Cariad Lloyd's death podcast scoops three awards

Cariad Lloyd’s Griefcast, in which the host talks to fellow comedians about death, has been named podcast of the year.

The show also won two other awards last night: for best entertainment and best interview series.

In the comedy category, Benjamin Partridge’s Beef And Dairy Network Podcast, a deadpan programme for ‘those involved or just interested in the production of beef animals and dairy herds’,  scooped the gold.

Babysitting Trevor, in which Carl Donnelly and Chris Martin take fellow comic Trevor Cook out of his comfort zone, took silver, and  James Barr and Dan Hudson’s A Gay & A NonGay tool bronze.

Radio 4’s Short Cuts, in which Josie Long introduces short audio documentaries won the best radio podcast category. Silver went to Elis James and John Robins, and bronze went to Russell Brand, both for their Radio X podcasts.

Helen Zaltzman was named podcast champion, and her show The Allusionist took gold in the ‘smartest’ category.
