Hulu picks up series written by Mindy Kalling

Four Weddings And A Funeral is to be made into a TV series by American comic Mindy Kaling.

US streaming service Hulu has just announced that it is picking up the project for a series

The Office and Mindy Project star has written the remake and is one of the executive producers, along with original writer Richard Curtis.

Like the 1994 film starring Hugh Grant and Andie MacDowell, Four Weddings follows a group of friends  though a series of life-changing events.

Hulu previously rescued The Mindy Project after the Fox network pulled the plug after three seasons, and went on to make three more, ending last November. 

Casting has yet to be announced for the new Four Weddings And A Funeral.
