Testing ideas from the public

Alex Horne is piloting a new entertainment show for a ‘major broadcaster’.

The comedian, and creator of Dave’s hit Taskmaster, is hosting a run-through of the show currently called Alex Horne Entertains, in London later this month.

It involves him meeting members of the public with inventive ideas, which he will put to an audience vote.

The show comes as Josh Widdecombe also pilots a format which puts suggestions for inventions and ‘life hacks’ to the test in Josh Widdicombe Will Make Your Life Better.

The run-through of Alex Horne Entertains takes place at the Bernie Grant Centre in North London next Friday, April 13. Free audience tickets are available here.

Five nights later, on April 18, Horne is recording a two-hour special at the London Palladium  featuring his backing band The Horne Section for later broadcast on Dave.

The night will also feature guest performances from music and comedy stars, with Horne joking: ‘We’re pretty excited to see how Twitter will cope with jazz and jokes for two hours.’
