Another series for Will & Grace
The revived Will & Grace has been commissioned for a third season.
NBC executives have also extended the forthcoming second series from 13 episodes to 18.
The show first broadcast for eight seasons from 1998 to 2006 but returned to air following a surprise ten-minute sketch made in 2016 about the Presidential election campaign.
It has been averaging 9.8 million viewers, making it NBC’s most-watched primetime comedy. And it airs on Channel 5 in the UK.
The network’s entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt said: ‘As far as I’m concerned, we can’t get enough of Will & Grace, and 23 more episodes is music to my ears.
Original stars Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Megan Mullally and Sean Hayes are on board fro to the new episodes,
‘We’re eternally grateful that Debra, Eric, Sean and Megan feel the same way and wanted to keep this good thing going.
‘I’m overwhelmed by the euphoric response the new show has received from the press and the audience, and my hat is off to the unrivalled writing team of Max Mutchnick and David Kohan, as well as the brilliant directing of Jimmy Burrows, for consistently delivering one of the best shows on television.’
