Student hurt herself laughing too much

Michael McIntyre made one fan laugh so much she had to leave his show to go to hospital.

Jessica Owen, 19, was diagnosed with an inflamed chest brought on by too much laughing.

She was at the comedian’s gig at Plymouth Pavilions with her boyfriend Aiden when the pain hit.

The teenager said: ‘My chest started to really hurt with sharp pains and my arm went numb. We decided to leave ASAP and get it checked out at our local A&E at the Derriford Hospital.

‘I had an ECG and was told my chest was inflamed. The doctor asked where I had been and he said, "It’s obvious what you’ve done... you’ve laughed too hard."

The student contacted McIntyre’s official Facebook page to say she was 'gutted' she had to leave the show because of the incident – and was offered tickets for another gig on his tour.
