CGI reboot of 1970s series

Matt Lucas, Jennifer Saunders and Alison Steadman have joined the cast of the new Moomins reboot.

Saunders will voice the character of Mymble, Lucas will be Teety-Woo and Steadman will be Emma the Stage Rat in the Sky1 series Moominvalley.

Rebecca Root, star of the BBC Two sitcom Boy Meets Girl, also joins the cast as Misabel.

They join previously announced stars including Rosamund Pike, Kate Winslet, Taron Edgerton, Richard Ayoade, Matt Berry and Will Self.

Two series of 13 22-minute-long episodes have been commissioned, to launch next year. It is a CGI revamp of the 1970s stop-motion animation.
