Three intimate gigs next weekend

Dave Chappelle has announced a run of intimate London shows, with just a few days notice.

The gigs will take place in Proud Camden next Friday, February 2, then Leicester Square Theatre on Saturday and Up The Creek in Greenwich on Sunday.

They are billed as work-in-progress shows – but they do not come at work-in-progress prices,  as they will be priced £67.40 on Ticketmaster – £60 for the ticket and £7.40 in fees.

Fans are being warned of his no-mobile-phone policy – and anyone who brings a device will have to place it in a secure pouch. ‘Anyone caught with a cell phone inside the venue will be immediately ejected,’ say promoters Live Nation.

This Sunday, Chapelle will be presenting an award at the Grammys in New York, before performing another intimate gig at Berlin's  Quatsch venue on Wednesday.

Tickets for the shows go on sale at 10am tomorrow (Saturday).
