Comics up for radio gongs
Harry Enfield, Paul Whitehouse, John Finnemore, Marcus Brigstocke, and Sarah Kendall have all been shortlisted for radio comedy awards.
They are among the nominees in the comedy categories of the BBC Audio Drama Awards, which are now in their seventh year.
Brigstocke has not only been nominated for his Radio 4 show The Brig Society, but also for best original one-off drama for his first ever radio play
He made the shortlist for The Red, about an alcoholic who was bequeathed a collection of fine wine by his father. The script was based on the comedian’s own experience of recovery.
And Inside Donald Trump, the spoof biographical series made by Andy Hamilton, has been nominated for best online or podcast drama.

Winners will be announced a ceremony in the Radio Theatre at BBC Broadcasting House, London on January 28.
Each category is judged by a team of industry experts including actors Ruth Jones and Paterson Joseph, Newsnight presenter Emily Maitlis, and Chortle editor Steve Bennett.
