'A raucous Christmas party'

Miranda Hart is to host a Christmas special for Channel 4. 

The show is provisionally titled Miranda Does Christmas and is described as 'a raucous Christmas party with some very special guests'.

The one-off will also offer tips for surviving the festive period.

It was announced as part of the broadcaster's festive schedule today, although few other details of the show were revealed.

Also in the Christmas line-up is Alan Carr hosting a revival of The Price Is Right, as well as a Christmas special of Chatty Man – the first episode of the talk show in a year – and seeing in 2018 with a New Year's Eve spectacular.

There will also be  Yuletide specials of The Great British Bake-Off, Crystal Maze, Gogglebox and Made In Chelsea.

And The Big Fat Quiz of Everything will return with Jimmy Carr as question master.

Last week it was also announced that Hart will be hosting this year's Royal Variety Performance, which will be screened on ITV.
