The Rubbish Wolrd Of Dave Spud

Johnny Vegas and Gina Yashere are to provide the voices for a new CITV animation series.

The broadcaster has ordered 26 episode of The Rubbish World of Dave Spud  from London-based The Illuminated Film Company.

The 11-minute episodes are aimed at six- to 11-year-olds, and cover the anarchic escapades of the Spud family.

Broadcast trade website C21 media reports that the show will air in the summer of 2019.

Other actors giving voices include Phillip Glenister, Colin McFarlane, Lisa Hammond and Jane Horrocks.

The show was originally announced in 2013, with CBBC as the broadcaster.

Both Vegas and Yashere are also providing voices in the forthcoming Nick Park animated feature film Early Man, and Yashere previously provided a voice for the animated Channel 4 comedy series Bromwell High.
