Tony Blair to appear in a Last Leg sketch
Tony Blair is to appear in a comedy sketch on tomorrow night’s The Last Leg.
The former Prime Minister appears alongside Adam Hills, Alex Brooker and Josh Widdicombe as part of a two-hour special – Re-United Kingdom – in memory of murdered MP Jo Cox a year on from her death.
Its aim is to urge people to put aside their differences following a divisive election and Brexit referendum, and is linked to the nationwide series of street parties planned under The Great Get Together banner.
In a separate scene, Blair appears alongside former Tory leader William Hague to put their differences aside. It is one of a number of skits featuring rivals including Michael Gove and Ed Balls, and Nicola Sturgeon and Ruht Davidson.
Other guests in the studio will inlcude by Nick Clegg, Alastair Campbell, Jon Richardson, Stephen Mangan, James Buckley, Lily Cole and Elbow.
It is not Blair’s first appearance in a comedy sketch, of course, as he featured alongside Catherine Tate’s schoolgirl character Lauren for Comic Relief in 2009, when he was still in No 10.
