Mark Watson and Shazia Mirza join The Island
Mark Watson and Shazia Mirza are taking part in the next series of The Celebrity Island With Bear Grylls.
The comedians are among ten celebrities who have spent four weeks trying to survive in the tough environment with just the clothes on their back, basic tools, medical supplies, enough water to last them for 24 hours and each other.
They are joined by Breaking Bad actor RJ Mitte, Olympian and broadcaster Iwan Thomas, actor, Rizzle Kicks singer Jordan Stephens, actor Ryan Thomas, former TOWIE star Lucy Mecklenburgh, swimmer turned TV presenter Sharron Davies, former Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton, and TV doctor Sara Kayat.
On May 1, Watson posted: ‘I am not on Twitter until June 2, because of a SECRET PROJECT. When I'm back, I hope you will have solved all the problems.’
The Celebrity Island With Bear Grylls will air on Channel 4 in the autumn and feature footage shot by the celebrities, as well as a crew of five who lived alongside them in exactly the same conditions to help document the highs and lows.
Last year, Josie Long took part in the first celebrity version of the show, which lasted for two weeks. Afterwards she said: ‘I had to kill a crab by stabbing it behind the eyes with a knife and I couldn’t bear it.’
The series was commissioned by Channel 4’s Ian Dunkley and will be made by Shine TV
