TRAVEL MAN: Richard Ayoade is joined by Aisling Bea for a whistle-stop tour of Hungary's fairy tale capital Budapest as they try goulash; a 'ruin pub'; a game of chess at the thermal bath and a ride on the Zugliget chairlift. Channel 4, 8.30pm

TIM VINE TRAVELS IN TIME: Radio 2’s Comedy Showcase series continues with this gag-packed show in which the pun-loving quipster does something of a Mr Benn: climbing through the magic grandfather clock in his antique shop to emerge in a different time and place. Radio 2, 10.30pm

CARDINAL BURNS PRESENTS DEAN AND MURF: Tonight’s Comedy Showcase pilot is a multi-character show from writer-performers Seb Cardinal and Dustin Demri-Burns and directed by one Julian Barratt. The pair play ex-ravers who live on a dilapidated houseboat on the Regents Canal who are forced to visit the job centre - which leads them on a surreal adventure working as factory workers on a Ken Loach film. Radio 2, 10.30pm
ELIS JAMES’ PARTHENON OF HEROES: Radio 4 Extra gives the Carmarthen-born comic’s 2013 Radio Wales series a nationwide outing. In this opening episode he take pride in Welsh structures, including The Severn Bridge, The Millennium Stadium and the wildcard entry, Stonehenge. He says: If I can be to Welsh history what Bill Oddie is to British wildlife, I'll be thrilled.’
Friday March 24
RED NOSE DAY: Comics old and new take part in the BBC’s marathon coverage - 7pm to 2.30am - live from a comedy club built inside the O2. Hosts include Lenny Henry, Joe Lycett, Rob Beckett, Romesh Ranganathan, Warwick Davis, Sally Phillips, Jonathan Ross and French & Saunders plus Greg Daviesm who’ll be in a hot tub atop the landmark when the telethon temporarily shifts to BBC Two to make way for the Ten O’Clock News. Skits include James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke, a Smack The Pony reunion, Vic and Bob as The Stotts, the stand-up hour Russell Brand’s Stand Off, plus the much-hyped follow-up to Love Actually, Red Nose Day Actually.
