More gongs for Fleabag, Mum and Partridge
Mum, Alan Partridge and Fleabag creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge have all been honoured at the Broadcasting Press Guild Awards.
Waller-Bridge won the best writer prize at the London ceremony, with guild chair Caroline Frost praising the way she 'had us flinching, conspiring, admonishing, sympathising' during her highly acclaimed comedy. 'We watched a lot of it through our fingers,' she added. 'And how we laughed, even while we wept.'
BBC Two comedy Mum, written by Stefan Golaszewski and starring Lesley Manville, was named best comedy, with Sky Atlantic's Alan Partridge: Mid Morning Matters taking the honours for best multichannel show
The award for best entertainment programme went to the Graham Norton Show with Frost, entertainment editor of the Huffington Post, praising Norton for 'continuing to make everything he does look deceptively easy'.
The Broadcasting Press Guild Award, which were handed out at Theatre Royal Drury Lane, are the only ones voted for by TV and radio writers, reviewers and broadcast correspondents.
