Jason Manford to host The Nightly Show
JASON MANFORD has signed up to host ITV’s ailing Nightly Show. The comic is set to present the programme in Easter week, The Mail on Sunday reports.
MANFORD has also been announced as the host of this year’s Olivier Awards, He will be handing out the West End’s leading gongs at the Royal Albert Hall on Sunday April 9. Among the nominees is David Baddiel for his stand-up show My Family: Not The Sitcom.
Simon Amstell is to appear at the Edinburgh Fringe this year. The comic, whose first film Carnage debuts on iPlayer tomorrow, will be performing three work-in-progress gigs at the Pleasance Courtyard on August 17, 18 and 19 ahead of his forthcoming tour.
ITV has commissioned a fourth series of its variety show Tonight At The Palladium. The new series tapes from April 10 to May 24 at the famous 2,200-capacity theatre and free audience tickets are available here. Previous hosts have included Jack Whitehall, Jimmy Carr and Rob Brydon.
Kevin Bridges has announced an appearance at the Glasgow Live Comedy Festival, hosting Stand Up Against MND – a benefit in memory of Motor Neurone Disease patient and campaigner Gordon Aikman, who died from the condition last month at the age of 31. The bill at the King’s Theatre on March 20 also includes Des Clarke, Fred MacAulay and more.
