Funny Women loses its Benefit
Benefit Cosmetics has ended is sponsorship of the Funny Women Awards after five years.
Producer Lynne Parker, who set up the organisation 15 years ago, said: ‘We will be eternally grateful for everything they have done and wish them well.’
While working with Benefit, the awards dropped their controversial ‘pay-to-enter’ policy and expanded the number of strands to four, covering performance, writing, film making and best show.
Parker is now on the lookout for new sponsors saying: ‘The Funny Women Awards offer a potential sponsor a multitude of marketing opportunities. We can also fundraise for partner charities to meet CSR objectives.’
She also spoke of her work ‘around women’s leadership and diversity’, adding: ‘We work for some of the world’s leading companies including JLL, Lloyds of London, Aon, PwC, Accenture, Investec and Mastercard.’
• Chortle is also seeking sponsors for its industry-leading comedy awards and student comedy award. We should probably mention that.
