BBC radio show for Shane Todd

Prime slot on Radio Ulster

Northern Irish stand-up Shane Todd is to host his own show on BBC Radio Ulster.

The comic is to present a prime 10.30am slot on Saturdays from this coming weekend.

It follows a previous series he hosted on Tuesday nights last year.

Radio Ulster says the show will feature a mix of comedy sketches, interviews and features and the return of his character Mike McGoldrick, a rugby player and delusional ladies’ man.

Shane said: ‘I used to make demo tapes in my bedroom and send them into BBC Radio Ulster. Guess what, it really paid off because here I am nine and a half years later with my own Saturday morning show.’

Series producer Owen McFadden added: ‘Shane is a great comic talent and we are delighted that he will be part of the BBC Radio Ulster schedule on Saturday mornings.’
