Scot Squad live show 'coming soon'

Creator in talks for stage transfer

Scot Squad is set to make the leap from TV to a live show.

The creator of the police mockumentary, Joe Hullait, said he’s in talks to follow fellow BBC Scotland comedies such as Still Game, Burnistoun and Gary: Tank Commander on to the stage.

He told Glasgow Live: ‘We have been discussing the massive spectacle of a live show with all the cast.

‘The format of the show isn't clear at the moment but there's a willingness there from everyone. I strongly suspect there will be a live show at some point soon.’

Hullaid, a former stand-up, also said that Jack Docherty, who plays Chief Commissioner Cameron Mickelson, could tour Scotland in character.  ‘Jack would love to do more,’ he said.

The show has drawn many of its supporting cast from the Scottish comedy circuit, with several of those who cameoed having shows at Glasgow’s forthcoming comedy festival.

Hullait also said he had a lot of ideas for a fourth seres of Scot Squad, which he was hoping the BBC would commission.
