Peter Kay holds Q&A for cancer sufferer

Charity event next month

Peter Kay is holding a Q&A session in aid of a cancer sufferer.

Proceeds from the £35-a-head session at Blackpool Opera House next month will go towards treatment for Polly Haydock,  a mother of three from Kay’s native Bolton.

The 37-year-old was diagnosed with cancer last year and is now classed as terminal, having been given six months left to live in July. She is trying to raise £200,000 to get  immunotherapy treatment in Germany which is not available on the NHS.

She said: ‘Apart from the pain, I feel and look Relatively Normal and know that the prognosis is wrong. I will not accept the death sentence that I have been given.’

Kay will discuss his career in comedy  at the event on December 2, with tickets going on sale here at 9am on Saturday.

He previously held similar events at the same venue in 2014 to launch Car Share, which raised money for Salford Women’s Refuges.
