Channel 4 announces commission

Alan Carr is to present a new audience game show for Channel 4.

The Twelve Stars of Christmas will air in the run-up to the festive season, and feature three celebrities each representing a third of the audience.

Each will be quizzed on the events of 2016, and the triumphant star will win prizes for their section of the crowd.

The contestants will choose their questions from Alan’s Advent Calendar: Behind each door will be a famous face armed with a question about year.

The series has been commissioned by Channel 4’s Head of Entertainment Ben Caudell from Magnum Media and Alan Carr’s own production company Travesty Media.

Earlier this month it was reported that  Carr was working on a new show, Happy Hour, to air in an earlier slot than his more adult-themed Chatty Man and set in a traditional British social club.
