BBC orders a series from Shane Todd

Break for Northern Irish stand-up

The BBC has commissioned a stand-up, sketch and interview series from Northern Irish comic Shane Todd.

A series of eight 45-minute episodes, called simply The Shane Todd Show, will be recorded later in the year for broadcast on BBC Radio Ulster.

The comedian is already known to listeners for hosting the station's stand-up show, Live From The Sunflower, while on TV he was one of the leads in the BBC Northern Ireland comedy TV series Late Licence and featured in the broadcaster's Euro 2016 football strand, Tight Shorts:

Todd will appear at the Edinburgh Fringe next month with his new stand-up show Holywood To Hollywood, before plays his largest headline show yet, at Ulster Hall, Belfast on September 16.
