The Nerds will be heard
The Festival of the Spoken Nerd trio have started work on a new comedy science show for Radio 4.
Domestic Science promises to look at science in the home, and will encourage listeners to do their own experiments.
'Stand-up mathematician' Matt Parker, experimentalist Steve Mould and 'geek songstress' Helen Arney are trying out some of their scripts next Friday, ahead of the forthcoming series.
Arney said: 'Mixing science and comedy is already pretty popular on the BBC, but Domestic Science is all about getting the audience to actually do some science.
'We have play-along-at-home experiments in every show, and you don't need any fancy kit or an expensive degree: just a mug, a spoon, some sticky tape, a polyester nightie and a healthy disregard for your own personal safety.
'Across the series we'll turn your house into a science lab, and turn you into an overnight genius (for some definitions of "genius").'
They will be running through their material at The Albany in Central London next Friday afternoon (Click here to apply for audience tickets), ahead of a number of performances of their live show Just for Graphs 2 at the Udderbelly on the South Bank.
