Richard Wilson returns for Fringe run

Richard Wilson is to revive Victor Meldrew for a one-man show at the  Edinburgh Fringe.

The actor will be bringing back the curmudgeon for a two-week run at Assembly, 16 years after One Foot In The Grave ended.

His decision follows the success of a one-off charity performance in Sheffield last year.

Then Wilson, 79, played Victor in the first half, using a script from One Foot creator David Renwick, then did a Q&A session as himself in the second.

He told Scotland On Sunday: 'I can’t tell you how much the audience loved it. I had such a good time we decided to take it to Edinburgh. I loved doing it, so I guess I must miss acting.'

He'll be at the Fringe from August 16 to 28.
