Matt Richardson joins Virgin Radio
Comic Matt Richardson is to be the drivetime DJ on Virgin Radio when it returns to the airwaves next month.
The stand-up will take the 4pm-7pm slot every weekday on the station, which will be available on DAB digital radios from March 30.
Richardson is best known for co-hosting The Xtra Factor on ITV2 alongside Caroline Flack in 2013, and has appeared on panel shows including Never Mind The Buzzcocks and Celebrity Juice.
He tweeted today: 'Pretty chuffed to be hosting drive-time everyday on the new @VirginRadioUK '
Richardson joins a line-up that boasts Edith Bowman in the breakfast slot, Jamie East (10am–1pm), Kate Lawler (1pm–4pm) and Tim Cocker (7pm–11pm).
Virgin Radio previously broadcast in the UK between 1993 and 2008 under several owners, including Chris Evans, but was renamed Absolute Radio after a further ownership change in 2008. UTV Media have now struck a deal with Virgin Radio International to relaunch the brand.
