Matt Groening plans new animated series
<P>Simpsons creator Matt Groening is in talks with Netflix to create a new animated comedy.</p><P>Hollywood trade paper <a href="http://variety.com/2016/tv/news/matt-groening-simpsons-netflix-animated-series-1201681129/">Variety</a> reports that the streaming giant is considering ordering two series of ten episodes apiece. A two-series order would help spread the high start-up costs of an animation.</p><P>However no details of the project are yet known.</p><P>Although still executive producer and creative consultant of The Simpsons, Groening has reportedly 'not been too active' in TV since Futurama ended in 2013.</p><P>Netflix has been expanding into animations with shows such as Will Arnett's BoJack Horseman and Bill Burr's 1970s throwback series F Is for Family.</p><P>The Simpsons was recently renewed for its 28th season, which will take it up to 2017.
