Pascoe and Suttie to tour

Both linked to their new books

Sara Pascoe and Isy Suttie have announced tours for 2016, linked to the books they both have coming out.

Pascoe's title, Animal: How A Woman Is Made, is described as a 'funny, feminist exploration of the female body' and is due to be published by Faber in the spring.

She is to go on the road with a 26-date tour also called Animal, starting in Aldershot on May 6.

It is described as 'a mixture of completely true stories about Tony Blair, Oedipus Rex and the wildlife of Lewisham, plus a load of stories that don't sound true at all about Jason Donovan, Henry the Hoover and when God took over the tannoy in Sainsbury's.'

Meanwhile, Suttie's book, The Actual One – a coming-of-age memoir based around her anxieties about settling down – is due to be released on January 14 (Preorder).

Her tour is more explicitly linked to the publication, and is billed as The Actual Book Tour. But the show, premiered at the Chortle Comedy Book Festival earlier this month, will include songs and stand-up, as well as readings from the book.

Twelve dates start in Maidenhead on January 16 and end in her home town of Matlock Bath, Derbyshire, on February 19. In addition, she is giving a talk on the book as part of Belfast's Out To Lunch arts festival on January 31.

Here are the full dates.
