Rammo: First Brood
Chris Ramsey has become become a father for the first time.
The comic’s wife, Rosie, gave birth early this morning to a son, Robin.
He tweeted to his 360,000 followers this morning: ‘I’m a father, you mothers! Will post details and pics later. Sleep now.
‘Thanks again for all of the tweets. And massive thanks to South Tyneside Hospital. Incredible.
The couple have spent more than 24 hours in the maternity ward. Rosie was admitted on Sunday night for labour to be induced, with the comic cancelling his show at Sheffield City Hall that night with just a few days’ notice so he could be with her.
Ramsey, 29, previously posted jokes about the time the birth was taking. Yesterday he tweeted: ’Just had some serious pushing. It was such a struggle, but it’s finally out! Best poo I’ve ever had. No sign of the baby yet #RamseyLabour,’./p>
The star of BBC Two’s Hebburn also said: ‘If this little bugger is anything like it’s Dad, we’re only going to get it out if we play its walk-on music’
Ramsey married Rosie, a singer and actress from South Shields, last year. She has a radio show on Capital North East every Saturday afternoon.
Sheffield City Hall say they are ‘working to schedule a new date in the spring of 2016’ and told ticket-holders they could either wait for the announcement or get an immediate refund. Ramsey is due to play The Atkinson, Southport on Friday and The Lowry, Salford, on Saturday as part of his ongoing, and now especially aptly named, All Growed Up tour.
