Over the Moone
Moone Boy has been nominated for three accolades in this year’s Irish Film and Television Awards.
It is up for best comedy, with stars Chris O’Dowd and Deirdre O’Kane up for best actor.
Mrs Brown’s Boys has been shortlisted in two categories, best comedy and best male performance for Brendan O’Carroll; while Sharon Horgan is in the running for best female performance for her role in Channel 4’s Catastrophe, which she co-wrote with Rob Delaney.
The winners will be announced in Dublin on October 22. Academy chief executive Áine Moriarty said the nominees showcase ‘the very best of Irish television and acknowledge the hard work, creativity and spirit that goes into producing hundreds of hours of television production each year’.
The awards are split into two ceremonies, with film & drama awards handed out separately.
Puffin Rock, which is narrated by Chris O’Dowd, has also been nominated in the children’s animation category.
