Prank show for Plebs star Ryan Sampson

New commission for ITV2

ITV2 has commissioned another comedy prank show.

Glitchy, described as a 'sketch prank hybrid' will feature Ryan Sampson from ancient Roman sitcom Plebs spoofing other reality show formats.

Over the six-part series members of the public will be conned into taking part in such fake shows as Britain and Ireland's Next Top Hand Model, 24 Hours in A Phone Box, Date My Daughter, Embarrassing Personalities and street magician Mezmo.

The cast includes a raft of up-and-coming comedy talent including Ellie White, Gabby Best, Colin Hoult, Liam Hourican, Jason Attar and Mona Yousefi.

Sampson said: 'I'm beyond excited that ITV have let us loose, giving our own twisted take on all of our favourite TV shows. It's going to be brilliant. And weird. And weirdly brilliant.'

The series is being made by Talkback, whose managing director Leon Wilson said: 'Ryan Sampson is a great comedic talent.'

The shows were ordered by Angela Jain, ITV's director of digital channels, who said: 'We are always up for commissioning risky shows and this is one of them. The production team behind it and the performers are a crack ensemble. Delivering laughs is what they know how to do.'
