BBC drops House Of Fools
BBC Two has axed Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer's sitcom House of Fools.
Executives have pulled the plug on the show, which also starred Matt Berry, Daniel Simonsen and Morgana Robinson, after two series and a Christmas special.
The axe was reportedly set to fall after the first series, in which ratings fell from 1.27million to 700,000, but was given a reprieve by BBC comedy chief Shane Allen. At the time, he called the comedy 'a much needed big old rainbow of daftness in a world that is too grey and sensible'
However the second series did not improve on the figures, averaging a million viewers on overnight figures.
House Of Fools producer Lisa Clark has already gone on to a new job; as she will be running the revamped Top Gear with Chris Evans.
The news was broken by the Radio Times, and a BBC spokesman confirmed: 'BBC Two and BBC Comedy would like to thank Vic, Bob, Lisa Clark and everyone else involved in making House of Fools, but after two fantastically inventive series the show won't be returning.'
Here is a trailer for the first series:
