Limmy live
Cult comedy star Limmy has announced his first major stage show – starting with a gig in Glasgow's Clyde Auditorium.
He follows in the footsteps of both Still Game and Gary: Tank Commander in transferring TV shows to a Glasgow stage.
He told The Scotsman that the live show would be based on his sketch show, which ran from 2010 to 2013, with 'wee twists' on the scripts. And he'll also perform stand-up to introduce the skits, which will feature such characters as waster Dee Dee, reformed junkie Jacqueline McCafferty and fantasy game host Falconhoof.
He also revealed to reporter Jay Richardson that the BBC rejected his idea for a Falconhoof spin-off.
The comic, real name Brian Limond, is about to embark on a smaller-scale seven-night tour to mark the launch of his new book Daft Wee Stories – which he said inspired his move to a full-blown show.
He said: 'Once I got ready for the Daft Wee Stories [tour] and prepared for it I knew I was committed and my attitude changed. I wasn't frightened any more.'
His gig at the 3,000-seater Clyde Auditorium will be in January, but is not yet on sale.
He has perviously performed at the Glasgow Comedy Festival in 2007 as well as a run at The Stand during the Edinburgh Fringe.
Daft Wee Stories is published on July 30. Click here to preorder.
