Ricky Gervais's Office spin off, Life On The Road – charting David Brent's attempts to become a music star with his band Foregone Conclusion – is to be released in the UK on August 19 next year, it has been announced. The movie will also get an American release soonafter, following a deal with distributor Open Road.

TRACY MORGAN, Steve Carell and Kevin Hart are all to have their own stars on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame next year. The list of those to be honoured in 2006 – and pay $30,000 for the privilege – has just been released and also includes Quentin Tarantino, LL Cool J, Kathy Bates, Bruno Mars and Cyndi Lauper.

MEANWHILE, Dad's Army star Ian Lavender was yesterday honoured on Birmingham's Walk of Stars. The Private Pike actor said it was 'absolutely lovely,' to join the likes of Jasper Carrott, Frank Skinner, Lenny Henry and Ozzy Osborne, adding:'I am a proud Birmingham boy.'

DAVID O'DOHERTY has written a second kids' book. Danger Is Still Everywhere is to be released on August 6, and is illustrated by Chris Judge, as was its 2014 predecessor Danger Is Everywhere. Preorder.

JOHNNY VEGAS is to guest host Channel 4's Sunday Brunch this weekend while regular host Tim Lovejoy takes time off to go to Glastonbury. The comic said he was 'chuffed' to stand in.
