Netflix orders Maria Bamford series
Maria Bamford is to make an 'occasionally surreal' comedy show for Netflix, produced by the creator of Arrested Development.
The streaming giant has signed up the quirky comedian for 13 episodes of Lady Dynamite, loosely based on her own life.
In the series, produced by Mitch Hurwitz, Bamford will play 'a woman who loses – and then finds – her shit.'
Bamford, whose stand-up centres on her anxieties, previously guest-starred on Arrested Development Season 4, playing a drug addict Tobias meets when he mistakes a rehab group for an actors' meeting.
Also co-producing the show is South Park producer Pam Brady.
