America's Got Dragons
Piff The Magic Dragon is to appear on America's Got Talent. The British comedy magician, and now Vegas regular, will be appearing on the season premiere which airs on NBC tonight. However the man in the dragon suit, John van der Put, has been sworn to secrecy about how it went. Here he is at a former Chortle Fast Fringe:
CAROLINE RAPHAEL, the former BBC Radio 4 comedy and fiction commissioning editor who brought Little Britain, The League of Gentlemen and Cabin Pressure to air, is joining Penguin Random House as the editorial director of its audio division.
DAVID and Victoria Coren Mitchell have become parents for the first time. Victoria broke the news on Twitter, saying: 'Sorry to have been away from Twitter for a while, I've been developing a new project… We've got a daughter!! Barbara Elizabeth June Mitchell, very small and sweet. All three of us are extremely happy and sleepy.'
PETER KAY's Car Share ended its run with 4.5million viewers on Friday night, making an average of 4.8million over all six episodes. The strong performance comes of the back of the full series debut on iPlayer, where it notched up 2.8million views before its terrestrial broadcast.
MEMORABILIA from Sid Caesar's long comedy career is to go under the hammer in Los Angeles next month. Lot to be auctioned off include the military costume from his German General skits, which is expected to fetch up to $3,000, scripts and awards including his Television Academy Hall of Fame Award (Estimate: $1,000 to $2,000). Furniture, jewellery, artwork and guns from Caeser's home are also being auctioned off at Julien's Auctions Beverly Hills gallery on June 26 and 27.
