Vote in the Chortle Student Comedy Award

People's Choice poll now open

Voting is under way for the People's Choice champion in this year's Chortle Student Comedy Award.

Polls have opened following the last heat, held at Brunel University in Uxbridge, West London, last night which was won by Andy Field – who is doing a masters in creative writing there as well as being a regular on the London open mic circuit.

Now Chortle readers choose another semi-finalists to join the 13 nationwide heat winners as the People's Choice champion, with polls open until 7pm on April 7.

Clips of all the competitors are available via our YouTube playlist.

The winner will be announced the following day, along with several wildcards, chosen by judges from across all the heats.

All will go through to two semi-finals held at the Tattershall Castle – the floating home of the The Boat Show comedy club moored on the Thames in Central London –  on May 18 and 19. Tickets for the first night are available here and the second here.

The final will take place at the Edinburgh Fringe, with some of the finalists taking part in a showcase gig to open the comedy arena at the Latitude Festival on July 17.
