Al Murray's FUKP becomes an official party
Al Murray's Freedom United Kingdom Party has become officially registered as a political party by the Electoral Commission, allowing the comedian to stand on that ticket against Ukip leader Nigel Farage in South Thanet in May. Ukip supporters had claimed FUKP could confuse voters as its name and logo was too close to their own, and Farage called the decision a 'disgrace'. 'I want everyone in the Electoral Commission fired and the organisation closed down,’ he said.

ENTRIES have opened for the Amused Moose Laugh Off contest. Entrants must submit a 90-second clip filmed at a comedy club to be considered by the industry judging panel; then quarter and semi-finals will be held in London throughout May and June with the final at the Edinburgh Fringe. SANDIER BHASKAR is to star in a new six-part ITV drama series, Unforgotten. The Kumars star will appear opposite Last Tango in Halifax’s Nicola Walker, playing detectives investigating a 39-year-old murder case. Trevor Eve, Bernard Hill, Ruth Sheen and Tom Courtenay will also star.
