Talksport to me
Kayvan Novak is to host a show on Talksport radio in the guise of his Fonejacker wheeler-dealer alter-ego, Terry Tibbs.
Novak – who is soon to star in a BBC One sitcom Woody, with Bradley Walsh – will host a sporting phone-in on the nationwide channel next month called Talk To Me, Tibbs’ catchphrase.
Liam Fisher, Talksport’s programme director, said: ‘Kayvan is a very sharp and talented comedian, and Terry Tibbs is brilliantly funny. Giving listeners the opportunity to ring up and speak to him has not been done on radio before and really offers something new.’
He added that Novak’s show, to air at 10pm on February 6, is part of a drive to include more comedians on the channel.
Fisher said: ‘We recently launched Matt Forde’s Sports Party which has attracted comedians including Jon Richardson and Terry Alderton. It’s a way of increasing our repertoire and offering even more to listeners.’
