Viewers: We love Mrs Brown and Keith Lemon
MRS BROWN’S BOYS was named most popular comedy programme at the National Television Awards last night. Keith Lemon’s Celebrity Juice won the multi-channel award, Alan Carr was named most popular chat show host and David Walliams scooped the TV judge category of his role on Britain’s Got Talent – although Simon Cowell picked it up on his behalf The accolades are voted for by the public.
Frankie Boyle's Referendum Autopsy proved a hit on the iPlayer in 2014. The show, which featured guests Katherine Ryan and Sara Pascoe discussing Scottish independence, attracted 715,000 requests to view – one of the best figures for a show made for the on-demand service only. Its iPlayer-only Original Comedy Shorts, featuring Bob Mortimer, Matt Berry and Meera Syal, were also a success, with a total of 1.9million requests.

WAL-MART has settled a wrongful death claim with the family of comedian James McNair over the accident that killed him and seriously injured Tracy Morgan last summer. The size of the out-of-court settlement has not been disclosed, but the store giant, whose truck slammed into the comics' limo van on the New Jersey Turnpike last June, said 'We're committed to doing what's right.'
JOEL DOMMETT is to be a team captain on ITV2's new panel show Reality Bites, opposite Big Brother presenter Emma Willis. The first episode of the show, hosted by Stephen Mulhern, airs on February 5 and includes Joe Lycett and reality TV stars Luisa Zissman, Charlotte Crosby and White Dee as guests.
