Louis CK works on new TV pilot
Louie CK is set to make a new US comedy series.
The comic is executive producer and co-writer of Better Things, created by and starring Pamela Adlon.
Adlon plays CK’s ‘playdate’ friend Pamela in his sitcom, Louis, on which she is also a producer, and previously co-starred with him on its predecessor Lucky Louie. She also voiced Bobby Hill on King of the Hill.
In Better Things she will play an actor struggling to juggle work, her three daughters and her sex and social life.
The FX network has commissioned a pilot, with the hope of turning it into a full series.
The broadcaster already airs Louie, which will return for a fifth series of eight episodes in April. It will be paired in the schedules with The Comedians, the show starring Billy Crystal and set behind the scenes of a TV sketch programme.
FX also announced that it will air CK's next stand-up comedy special after its debut on the comedian's website this spring.
CK has just announced a record fourth night at New York’s Madison Square Garden, after already becoming the first comic to sell out the 18,000-capacity venue three times in a month with the same show.
He told fans: ‘If you keep buying the tickets, I have to keep doing the shows.’
