Kev Orkian to star in Infidel musical
Musical comedian Kev Orkian is to lead the cast of David Baddiel’s musical The Infidel.
He will play Mahmoud Nassir, the role played by Omid Djalili in the original film – a man raised Muslim who finds out his mother was Jewish.
Orkian came to prominence in 2010 when he made the semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent with his act, playing an Armenian who allegedly learned an Elton John number from a dodgy CD.
The Infidel cast also includes Mina Anwar, who played PC Maggie Habib in Ben Elton's sitcom The Thin Blue Line, alongside Andrew Paul, Melanie Marshall, Melanie Masson, Stewart Scudamore and Steven Serlin.

The Infidel has a book and lyrics by Baddiel, who also wrote the film, with music by Erran Baron Cohen, Sacha's brother.
Last week Baddiel said he was considering directing a movie loosely based on Maxine Carr, the girlfriend of Soham murderer Ian Huntley now living under a secret identity.
