Al Murray entertains troops in Afghanistan
Al Murray has just performed two live shows for hundreds of British troops at Camp Bastion in Afghanistan. Angie Avlianos, from CSE Forces Entertainment, said: 'Al Murray is one of the most highly sought-after comedians on the circuit and has a huge interest in the military. We were delighted to take him over to Afghanistan – it's something we've discussed for years but the timing never worked out until now.' Comic Maff Brown compered the shows, which will probably be the last to be performed at the base before troops withdraw.

VAMPIRE WEEKEND frontman Ezra Koenig has recorded a version of the Seinfeld theme tune for a bizarre new video game. His cover, in which he sings the tune a capella, is used in the online game The Junior Mint in which players – as Jerry Seinfeld or Kramer and attempt to throw mints into an open surgery wound, ignoring distractions such as Miley Cyrus swinging in on a wrecking board. THE WARMINGTON-ON-SEA Home Guard will be taking over a steam railway station later this month, in celebration of Dad's Army. Built in 1900, Weybourne Station in Norfolk was used as the location for the Royal Train episode of the enduring sitcom. Now part of North Norfolk Railway, the station will be hosting a Dad's Army weekend on May 24 and 25, in conjunction with the Dad's Army museum in Thetford.
LISA KUDROW comedy The Comeback is making – well, a comeback – after nine years. The show will return to HBO later this year, the US broadcaster has confirmed. It first aired for one series in 2005 and starred Kudrow as Valerie Cherish, a former sitcom star.
