GARY LE STRANGE, the New Romantic alter-ego of Waen Shepherd, has released his first new songs in almost a decade. The six-track EP Glamoronica features music he recorded eight years ago for a never-released third album, with new vocals added. The character previously released Polaroid Suitcase in 2003 and Face Academy in 2004, both of which have been re-released as digital downloads in recent months. A PLAQUE has been unveiled to Rising Damp and Porridge star Richard Beckinsale at his old school, College House Junior School in Chilwell, Nottinghamshire. David Walliams and Beckinsale’s actress daughter Kate were among those at the ceremony yesterday. Walliams said: ‘He was a completely different actor to what I could ever be. Very, very subtle; very warm; always incredibly truthful, but always very funny too.’

THE Green Man festival in the Brecon Beacons has announced more names to its comedy line-up. Mark Olver, Adam Bloom, Celia Pacquola, Holly Walsh, Isy Suttie, Pat Burtscher, Steve Hall and Andrew O’Neill are now among those playing the event from August 15 to 18.
