Richard Herring announces tour

THE first episode of The Daily Show hosted by John Oliver drew 1.5 million viewers to Comedy Central in the States on Monday night, slightly above last week’s average and pretty much level with the audience Jon Stewart usually attracts.
SOME fans have complained that sound problems ruined Jimmy Carr’s gig at Hull City Hall at the weekend. The comic’s headset mic was replaced partway through the first half, but several people reportedly shouted up to the stage that they still couldn’t hear him. Audience member Kerry Rhodes tweeted: ‘Sound so bad v dissapointed [sic]’ and Phil Ward told the Hull Daily Mail that around 30 people queued up demanding a refund after the show. The venue apologised for the technical problem, and said requests for a refund would be treated on a case-by-case basis.
WANDA SYKES is to present a female stand-up special for Oprah WInfrey’s OWN network in the States. Andi Smith, Tracey Ashley, Carmen Lynch, Dominique Witten, Gloria Bigelow and Marina Franklin will all be filming short sets for the Herlarious show in Chicago tonight.
TEENAGER Jack Carroll is performing his first gig since being crowned runner-up in Britain’s Got Talent tonight, warming up for his mentor Jason Manford when he launches his tour at the Lawrence Batley Theatre, Huddersfield, near to the 14-year-old’s home.
