Ker to curate R4's Museum Of Curiosity
Humphrey Ker is to be the new ‘curator’ on Radio 4 panel show The Museum Of Curiosity.
The show is hosted by QI creator John Lloyd, and former Edinburgh Comedy Award-winner Ker follows in an illustrious line of co-hosts that comprises Bill Bailey, Sean Lock, Jon Richardson, Dave Gorman and Jimmy Carr.
Ker appeared twice on the last series, once as a guest and once filling in as a curator for Carr.
Producers Dan Schreiber and Richard Turner said: ‘He proved himself to be the obvious successor to the museum curator role when he brilliantly and effortlessly dealt with every donation handed him from Friday the 13th III 3D to "the love child of modern human and Neanderthal".’
The new series of six programmes will be recorded in London in June and July (Tickets), and air on Radio Four in October.
Guests will include a true pith-helmeted explorer who discovered the fabled Bolivian two-nosed dog; an Egyptologist who claims to have unearthed the tomb of Queen Nefertiti; and a university professor who eats ants and then makes his students pick them out of his faeces
Ker, formerly of sketch troupe The Penny Dreadfuls, is a panel show regular, having appeared on 8 Out Of 10 Cats, Have I Got News For You and Fast And Loose on TV; and It’s Your Round and The News Quiz on radio.
