Jack Carroll makes BGT final

Thanks to public vote

Teenage comic Jack Carroll is through to the final of Britain’s Got Talent, thanks to the show’s viewers.

The 14-year-old was voted through after last night’s live final after winning the public vote.

When congratulated by hosts Ant and Dec, Carroll joked: "I sort of knew. It's a bit mad that, isn't it?’

Judge David Walliams branded Carroll, who was born with cerebral palsy, ‘the new Peter Kay’.

And Simon Cowell added: ‘It's been actually worth making this show just to meet you. I absolutely loved you! You've got a wicked sense of humour... Brilliant.’

During his routine, Carroll referenced the row over whether the demands of Britain’s Got Talent are too much for children.

He joked: ‘This isn’t the first reality show I auditioned for. I did audition for Strictly, but nothing back...

‘Apparently Brucie doesn’t think it’s for kids.’

And he did compare Cowell to Kim Jong-Un, despite press reports that he had been censored by the show and told to use Darth Vader instead.

The live final will air on June 8. The winner gets £250,000 and a slot on the Royal Variety Show.
