Paul scoops Sydney Comedy Fest title

Paul Foot has won the ‘best of the fest’ award at the Sydney Comedy Festival.

He saw off competition from Stephen K Amos, Gina Yashere, Arj Barker and Trevor Noah to scoop the international title.

South African Noah did not, however, go home empty-handed, as he won the Breakout Artist award.

The best local act was won by Matt Okine, a former best newcomer at the Melbourne Comedy Festival who is heading to Edinburgh this summer.

Best Newcomer went to Steen Raskopoulos; Director's Choice was Michael Workman and the MX Joke of Fest went to Rhys Nicholson.
