US remake of White Van Man cancelled

The American remake of BBC Three sitcom White Van Man has been axed after just two episodes.

The ABC network is expected to air the rest of the series - which it renamed Family Tools - but has confirmed that the show will not be renewed.

When the show made its debut on May 1, it attracted just 1. 7 million viewers in the key 18-49 age group (5.79 million in total) a network low for a comedy debut.

Originally 13 half-hour episodes were ordered, but this was cut to ten before the show aired.

Last year the BBC pulled the original version after two series. It starred Will Mellor and was created by former stand-up Adrian Poynton.
