Simon Day, Ladykiller

Comic joins West End play

Simon Day and Ralph Little are to take to the West End stage for the return of The Ladykillers.

The adaptation of the classic Ealing comedy from Father Ted co-creator Graham Linehan returns to the London stage from June 29.

The new cast also includes John Gordon Sinclair and Angela Thorne – best known as Marjory Frobisher in the sitcom To the Manor Born – as the elderly Mrs Wilberforce, who inadvertently sees off the gang of robbers who hole up in her digs.

Sinclair plays the gang’s ringleader Professor Marcus; Day will play Major Courtney and Little is Harry. Actors Chris McCalphy and Con O’Neill complete the line-up.

The show first opened in the West End at the Guilgud Theatre in late 2011, with a cast that included Peter Capaldi and Ben Miller, and broke the theatre’s box-office records. (Review).

It has since been on UK tour and will now play at The Vaudeville Theatre this summer. Tickets.
