Herring up for top radio award
For his Leicester Square Theatre podcast
Richard Herring's Leicester Square Theatre Podcast has been nominated for a prestigious Sony Award.
It is the only podcast in the shortlist for best comedy programme in the leading awards for radio. The Sonys have previously had award for internet broadcasts, but this has been dropped this year.
As usual, the comedy category is dominated by Radio 4 comedies, although Meera Syal's Asian Comedy Night, a stand-up show for the BBC Asian Network, is also nominated.
The Radio 4 shows are Isy Suttie: Pearl and Dave; John Finnemore's Souvenir Programme, which won the Chortle Radio Award last month, and My Teenage Diary.
The awards, which will take place on May 13.
