Jessica wins RTS Award for Twenty Twelve

Jessica Hynes, won the gong for best comedy performance at the Royal Television Society Awards last night.

She saw off fellow nominees Ruth Jones and Jack Whitehall to take the title for her role in Twenty Twelve.

However, the Olympic sitcom lost out in the scripted comedy section to Alan Partridge: Welcome to the Places of My Life.

The award for best comedy writer went to the writing team behind The Thick of It.

And Keith Lemon’s Celebrity Juice triumphed in the entertainment category.

The awards were handed out in at Grosvenor Hotel, London.
